Jasmine visits a Friend!

Today was Memorial Day! It was a very special day, so all of American Girl Farms did a blowout barbecue! Jasmine had a friend over and the girls had a great time! The cookout was at a park, so they loved to play on the playgrounds there!

The girls were SO excited to see each other. They live far away from each other, so it was a real treat! Jasmine's friend's name is Hannah!

There they are relaxing by a tree! They were SO excited.
Later on, they relaxed on a bench.
Here's a close up!
"Hey, Hannah, come on up here!" Jasmine called from her rock wall.
Be careful Jasmine, don't slip, watch your feet!
"I'm coming Jasmine! This is fun!" Hannah called to her friend.
Jasmine decided to climb a little higher. Hannah had actually almost reached her.
"Wow, we finally made it!" Hannah said breathing a sigh of relief. It was so hot out, and she thought that they wouldn't ever make it almost to the top.
"Yeah," Jasmine said gasping for breath. The wall was 10 feet all the way up!
The girls spent the rest of the day eating and laughing. They had a ton of fun!

Oh, and just so everyone knows, my real friend actually came over for the barbeque in the park! Yes, Hannah is her JLY doll! I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Day!

Before and After Pictures of Felicity's Hair, and Hairstyle Ideas!

I was playing with my dolls, and I suddenly realized that Felicity's hair was getting all tangled up, and sort of frizzy. She looked sort of sad, like "my hair is getting gross" sad. So, I and the American Girl Farms hairstyling team went to work on fixing Lissie's hair.
This is the before picture! It doesn't look that bad, but believe me, in person, it was just terrible.

After much brushing, hair snags, and squirt bottle spritzes, it was done. The finished product was amazing, and it only took 45 minutes actually (not too long when you think about it!)
This is the after picture. Not a snag or tangle, not a hair out of place! She looked amazing (she still does :))
Now that we had that taken care of, Felicity was begging for cute styles!
Here is the Ponytail Twist one! I actually used the tutorial for this off the AmericanGirlFan website, so thank you for putting this out there!
This one was pretty easy. You take two of the front parts of the hair and you twist them, then you use the remaining back hair and make a ponytail. It was really fun!
Also, if anyone wants to see these hairstyles in video or picture tutorials, then comment or email me ( americangirldollstory.blogspot.com) and I will post the pic or video tutorial on this blog!
This is just a simple braid, but to make it look a little more fancy, do it on the opposite side of the part, and then swing it over (I know, I can't explain it well, sorry)
Here is a really complicated one. I made this up actually. I wanted to see what would happen if I just kept overlapping mini braids, and this is what I got. I loved the end result! You could even take it farther and do more overlapping, but this was all I did.
After, we did a bun (she was getting prepared to play Ma in Little House on the Prairie). I got this hairstyle off American Girl! It really called for bobby pins, but we didn't have them, so we just used the mini clips! Also, I am not sure if I did it right, because I probably wouldn't see the hair tie in the center.
This one I thought was SO pretty! It was actually SUPER easy! You just kept taking the front hair and swinging it back (again, I really need to make a tutorial since I just cannot describe without pictures!) :)
I think it turned out awesome!
More styles and some tutorials coming soon!

Little House on the Prairie Full Episode: The Missing Kaya Mystery

Mary and Laura had just finished some of the chores, and now they were very bored. Laura wanted to ride her horse Candy, but she couldn't because Pa needed to lend four of his horses over to Mr. Hanson the owner of Hanson's Mill that their pa worked for. Pa had needed to give Candy too, and this had made Laura sad, until she found out that Candy would be back in a week.
"What should we do, Mary?" Laura said.
"Laura, like ma says, you really need to learn to just sit and watch the clouds!" Mary said. "But oh, alright, I admit, I'm bored too, come on, how about we go play on the swings in the school yard? Maybe there are other kids playing there and we can set up a game of jump rope, or maybe hopscotch!"
"Nah, that stuff is for school days and Sundays, this is Saturday and Saturdays are for adventure! How about we go get Samantha and invite her over to see our friend Kaya?"
"Laura Ingalls! That is much too risky, and besides if we tell the whole world that there are Indians in Walnut Grove, they'll be sent away, or maybe even killed!"
"Oh Mary, please? I'll give you some of my licorice!" Laura whined.
"Oh, alright!"
The girls ran off to the town that Samantha lived in. It was a neighboring town right before the big city!
Samantha opened the door and peered out into the bright sunlight. She smiled when she saw Laura and Mary. "Oh hi Laura, hi Mary!"
"Hi, we want you to go see the Indian friend we met last week!" Laura said.
"Let me just go get my stockings and shoes on, and -" Samantha started to say, but Laura quickly cut her off.
"Oh no, don't wear ANY stockings or shoes, we need to cross some of Willow Lake, and if you get your stockings and good shoes all wet, I bet your grandmary would be mad!" Laura said.
"Oh, well, um, ok I guess, I'll go with you now. Though for some reason, not wearing stockings and shoes feels so strange, but let's go," Samantha said, looking down at her bare feet.
Mary, Laura, and Samantha all crossed a small section of Willow Lake, and the girls stopped at the other side to talk.
"Let's look around all seperately for 10 minutes and let's all meet back here!" Laura said quickly, before dashing off into a bush.
The girls all met back about 10 minutes later, with no Kaya, and no Indians.
"We looked everywhere for places where a person might hide, and we didn't find a single thing," Laura sighed.
"Wait, don't get upset Laura, we only looked for people, now let's look for clues. Remember the mystery book I read out loud to you? It is just like that, we got to look for clues to lead to the treasure!" Samantha cried excitedly. "But let's not split up to look for clues, we should all go together just like they did in the book!"
"Ok then, let's go!" Laura said excitedly.
The girls set off deeper into the woods.
Laura and Mary watched Laura climb a tree to make sure she was staying on track, and to make sure she didn't get near the bees nest higher up in the tree.
"Mary, Samantha, I have found something!" Laura called down to the girls.
"Well then, bring it down! Quickly, we need to look for millions of clues!"
"Samantha, stop, I'm doing the best I can!" Laura cried down impatiently.
"I'm sorry!" Samantha called up to her.
"Look girls, here is what I found! I wonder what they are?" Laura said.
"Maybe they were used as decorations!" Mary said.
"Maybe they were toys for the kids!" Samantha said.
"Maybe they were for war dances and the Indians are plotting a war!" Laura said. She had such a creative imagination.
"Oh, Laura, that is just plain silly and I think you know it!" Mary frowned. Deep down inside, she was a bit frightened that what Laura said could be true. If there was a war, and the Indians weren't here, Ma and Carrie wouldn't be safe. Probably not even Jack the dog would know what to do. Pa was away, and who knew what could happen.
In the dirt, they saw faint streaks of purple.
"Wait, I know, it spells something! Why, it spells Kaya! This is probably where the children practiced their penmanship!" Mary exclaimed.
"Kaya! Maybe, well, maybe that is a sign!" Laura and Samantha cried at the same time.
"Wait!! I see something over there!!!" Laura cried running at full speed with the girls following behind her.
"Oh, my, Laura, it's Kaya's dress!" Mary shouted backing up from the hanging dress.
"Wow! Maybe another tribe kidnapped her and they want to make her -" Laura started to shout.
"Laura, hush! It is probably laying out to dry," Mary said calmly.
"Laying out to dry?? Don't you even have an imagination?" Laura cried out frowning at her sister. How could Mary be so calm?
"Of course I do, and if we keep fighting like this, Kaya will never be found. Ever!" Mary shouted.
Mary took the dress down to inspect it.
"Let me inspect it!" Laura screamed trying to snatch the dress away from her sister.
"Stop it! Just stop it! Your acting like such a baby! Who cares about who inspects it?" Mary said continuing to turn the dress around.
"I hear something in the bushes!" Samantha said in a frightened whisper.
Out of the brush came Kaya in clothes!
"But Kaya. these are your clothes!" Laura said.
"No, they aren't my clothes, they are another child of the tribe's clothes," Kaya said in very good English.
"Cool!" Laura and the girls exclaimed.
"Where in the world were you?" Samantha said.
"I was out....... hunting with my tribe. We had to catch........ food," Kaya said trying her hardest to explain. Her English was good, but not too good yet, so she had to keep stopping to search for the right words.
"Oh, ok! Well, at least we found you at last!" Mary said hugging Kaya.
For the rest of the day, the girls played and laughed together. It turned out to be a great day, one of the best days until..........................Samantha went home to an upset Grandmary because she didn't wear her stockings or shoes.

Jasmine and Julie Receive a Letter!

It was nearing dusk, and the girls at American Girl Farms were starting to wind down and head inside for relaxing time and dinner. But, Julie and Jasmine were sent to get the mail. In the mail, they found a letter! They quickly hurried up to their room to read it!
"Here, you read it Jasmine! I'm nervous!" Julie said handing over the letter.
"Alright, hold on, let me open it!" Jasmine said her hands shaking. They had no idea what it could possibly be!
"Let's read it together!" Julie said suddenly changing her mind.
"Sure!" Jasmine said happily. She didn't like to do things on her own.
Here is what the letter said:
Dear My Wonderful Dolls on American Girl Farms,

"Wow, we have a website with 15 followers???" Julie exclaimed!
"Well, it seems like that is what she is saying!" Jasmine said happily.

Jasmine and Felicity Plant a Mini Garden!

Felicity and Jasmine had started to become influenced by Lanie, so they decided to plant their own garden (this one was not a butterfly garden or pizza garden)!
They went to find some plants that wouldn't be too tall or too short, they wanted just the perfect size! Off they went to the Green Growing Market to buy some "starter" plants! They ended up with basil, parsley, and spearmint! They sure hope the spearmint grows fast! What's summertime without some yummy spearmint water, right? :)

Guess what? All this can be grown right here in this Herb Can! The girls can't wait to eat the herbs! The can was almost as big as they are!
Felicity took out the seeds. They sure are tiny!
They peeled off the metal lid! They had to be careful not to get their hands all caught in the metal!
Jasmine watered all the soil! Not too much water Jasmine!
Then, together, they added the seeds to the soil and smoothed  more soil over them!
We hope they start growing soon! There will be a celebratory post for the first bits of plant we see!!
I guess we are now just left to wait!

Jasmine's Photo Shoot!!

The weather today is just perfect for a photo shoot, so all the dolls and me on American Girl Farms took a break from school and went out to take a quick photo shoot. Jasmine was the main photo shoot girl (Felicity does make an indoor appearance)! We are going to start off with the outdoor pictures we took!
Jasmine loved relaxing in the cool, but yet warm grass. It was so refreshing!
A close up of her lying in the grass!
There she is in the patch of spring flowers! (They are hard to see, but they are there in shades of blue, yellow, purple, and pink)
Jasmine picked a flower and wove it around her hair clip! Isn't it beautiful?
There Jasmine is looking out at the rocks and fields! Doesn't  her hair look beautiful?
She posed with this strange looking flower never before seen on American Girl Farms!
Trying to get some shade!
There she goes, walking through the flower patch! Look, I see some white flowers too!

So, those are all the outside pictures! We now have some inside pictures taken last night! Here we go!
I really liked this one! I think I got the lighting just right!
Jasmine lying across the piano!
Jasmine posing with one of the sun flowers my mom got for Mother's Day!
Felicity and Jasmine are really good friends (all the dolls are!)
There they are at the huge sleepover/party at American Girl Farms on Saturday night! They had, pizza, donuts, and marshmallow oaties (a much healthier version of Lucky Charms from Whole Foods!).
Well, that is the end of the photo shoot, we hope you enjoyed it! We have so much more to show you, so please, stay tuned! We will hopefully post more today!

We'd also like it if you would follow the blog! We adore our followers (it is so much fun to see a new one everytime! Wow, 15 already??? Awesome!!)

New Bunk Beds and Sorry I Haven't Posted in SO Long!

Hi everybody, I want to start off by saying that I am sorry. I haven't posted in 1 month! 1 whole month! I just had a lot going on, and now I am free! I will post more on here. Also, my Etsy shop won't be open until early August/late July, sorry that I can't get it up sooner. However, I am still taking orders, and I will ship them out as soon as possible.
I have tons of posts to show you, and I am going to start up my Little House series again, the new one should be up by Wednesday! Keep an eye out! Also, around June I will be starting a summer camp series with the new bunk beds that I got! So, keep an eye out for that as well!
So, now you might be wondering what the bunk beds thing is about. Well, my neighbors made some bunk beds, and I guess that they must not of had room for them, so I got a cool surprise today before going off to my music (cello) show (by the way, I have not posted mainly because of practicing cello a whole lot I was trying to perfect it for this show).  Now, let's show you the pictures!
They are handmade and they came with a lot of cool stuff! I got two sets of these, but I did not take pictures of both as they look the same.
Here is the bedspread! It is really soft and nice. It is also handmade, which makes it SOOOO cool!
They come with really good matresses and pillows for each bed! Each bed fits two dolls!
Here Julie is reading her new beach Fun magazine and holding her doll Christine. Does this mean that Julie is claiming the top bunk as hers?
Well, I guess she is claiming that top bunk! Well, have a good nap Julie!

Alright, I have a ton of stuff to post, but I figured I would start you out with the most interesting post! More posts coming soon! These bunk beds rock!
Special Thanks to: My neighbors who let me have these, and to our model Julie Albright!
